Basement Cleanouts in Conyers
We carry out the boxes, furniture, old appliances and soggy carpet that collect below your home. Our crew sorts each load by material, protects your stairs and walls on the way up, and leaves the floor swept so you can see what you have.
What a basement cleanout covers
A basement cleanout is a full clear of the lowest level of your home: storage shelves, a finished rec room, a utility corner or all of it. It is the right call when the space has filled past the point of a weekend project, when you are getting ready to sell or finish the room, or when water has turned stored things into a problem.
Basements are hard on what is kept in them. Cardboard softens and gives way at the bottom of a stack. Particleboard dressers swell at the feet. Upholstery and carpet padding hold moisture and start to smell. In a humid Georgia summer this happens faster than most people expect, which is why we look at what each item is made of before we decide how it leaves.
The heavy lifting and the stairs are ours. You point to what stays, and we handle the rest.
What we handle on the day
- Damp and collapsed boxes
- We bag loose contents from boxes that have softened so nothing spills on your stairs. Dry, intact cardboard goes to recycling.
- Old furniture and sectionals
- Solid wood pieces in good shape can often be donated. Particleboard that has swollen or delaminated cannot, so it goes to disposal. We tell you which is which before it is loaded.
- Water-damaged carpet and padding
- We cut wet carpet into manageable rolls and carry the padding out separately, since it holds the most water and weight.
- Appliances and metal
- Old freezers, dehumidifiers, washers and metal shelving are kept apart for scrap recycling. For a single unit, our appliance removal page has more detail.
- Exercise equipment and bulky items
- Treadmills, weight benches and pool tables are taken apart where needed so they clear tight stairwells and door frames.
- Sweep-out after
- Once the last load is up, we sweep the floor and check corners behind where shelving stood.
Signs your basement is ready for a cleanout
A musty smell that will not clear
Often it comes from fabric, paper or padding that has absorbed moisture. Removing the source does more than any air freshener.
Boxes you have not opened in years
If the bottom row is sagging, the contents are likely already damaged.
You cannot reach the water heater or panel
Clear access to utilities matters for repairs and inspections, and for safety.
A sale or renovation is coming
Buyers and contractors both need an empty, visible room. A cleanout shows the true condition of floors and walls.
There was a leak or seepage
After water gets in, anything porous should come out quickly before mildew spreads to what was spared.
How a basement cleanout runs
- 1
A free look at the space
We come out, walk the basement with you and note the stairs, doorways and anything unusually heavy. You get upfront pricing with no hidden fees before any work is booked.
- 2
Protecting the path out
We lay down floor covering and pad tight corners and railings. Finished stairwells get the most care, since that is where scuffs happen.
- 3
Sorting and carrying
Items are separated as they come up: donation, recycling, scrap metal and disposal. Anything you are unsure about gets set aside for you to decide.
- 4
Loading and final sweep
The truck is loaded at your driveway, the floor is swept and we walk the space with you one more time before we leave.

What moves the price
Most of the price comes from how much space your items take up in our truck. The rest depends on how hard it is to get them out and what they are made of. We give you the number by phone or on site before we start.
- Volume
- A few pieces of furniture cost less than a basement filled wall to wall. We estimate by how much of the truck the load fills.
- Stairs and access
- Narrow, steep or turning stairs slow the work. A walk-out basement door usually makes it quicker.
- Weight and water
- Wet carpet, padding and soaked boxes weigh far more than dry ones, and disposal is often charged by weight.
- Items that need special handling
- Appliances with refrigerant and some bulky equipment take extra steps. Liquid paint and chemicals often cannot go in a standard load, and we will tell you on the estimate visit what we can take.
Basement cleanout questions
Something not covered here? (404) 777-5149
Do I need to bring everything upstairs first?
No. Carrying things up the stairs is the main reason people call us. Leave items where they are and we bring them out.
Can you remove moldy items?
We remove damaged boxes, furniture, carpet and padding, bagging the worst of it so it does not shed on the way out. We do not treat walls or framing. If you see mold on the structure itself, a remediation specialist is the right next call after the room is clear.
What happens to things that are still usable?
Solid furniture, working appliances and clean household goods are set aside for donation when they are in good enough shape. Metal goes to scrap recycling, and only what is left goes to disposal.
Will you damage my finished stairs or walls?
We cover floors and pad corners before the first item moves, and we take large pieces apart when they will not clear a turn. Taking our time on the stairs is part of the job.
Can you do the garage at the same visit?
Yes. Many people in Conyers pair the basement with a garage cleanout, and doing both in one trip is usually more efficient than two separate visits.
